Porcelain Veneers

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made, porcelain shells that are bonded to the front sides of your teeth. Many people who are unsatisfied with the appearance of their smile have found that porcelain veneers can transform their teeth into the confident, cheerful smile they have always dreamed of.

Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution for people that would like to correct a variety of dental problems, including:

  • Chipped Teeth

  • Cracked Teeth

  • Crooked Teeth

  • Misshaped Teeth

  • Spacing Problems

  • Worn Teeth

  • Broken Teeth

  • Stained or Discolored Teeth

Porcelain veneers are created to perfectly match the shape, color, size, and even translucency of your natural teeth. The result is a beautiful, natural looking smile that you can be proud of.

Procedure

If porcelain veneers are the best solution for your teeth, Dr. Lou will schedule you for a work up so you will see what the results will be for your personal smile. During your first visit, Dr. Lou will prepare your teeth which involve removing a very small portion of the enamel from your teeth so that the porcelain veneers fit seamlessly onto the front sides of the teeth.

After your teeth have been prepared, an impression of your teeth will be made. This impression will then be sent to a dental laboratory where your porcelain veneers will be custom made for your smile.

The creation of your porcelain veneers usually takes a couple weeks. During this time temporary porcelain veneers will be fitted. Many times, people are so pleased with these temporary veneers that they can’t believe the difference in their smile when the permanent porcelain veneers arrive.

Once your porcelain veneers are delivered from the Lab, we will schedule you for try-in to inspect and fit the porcelain veneers. After the porcelain veneers are perfect for you, Dr. Lou will carefully etch the surfaces of your teeth so that the porcelain veneers can be permanently bonded to your teeth. Then, she will apply the bonding agent and the porcelain veneers to your teeth and cure the bonding cement with a special light.

Once the porcelain veneers have been bonded to your teeth, you can smile with confidence, knowing that you have a wonderful new smile. Porcelain veneers are very durable, and will last you for years to come.
